Alejandro’s experience spans the range from plant operations to sales management and consultant. Returning to Colombia after graduation from Notre Dame, he worked in field operations at ECOPETROL’s main refinery, moving on to engineering in the Systems and Project Control group.
Later at ENKA, the Colombian affiliate of Dutch Akzo Nobel and producer of nylon-6 and other polymer and synthetic fibers, he expanded his experience to operational data systems, total quality control, and process simulation.
Building on his systems and computer technology experience, he moved to the sales and commercial area with CARVAJAL, the Colombian long-time leader in office equipment, systems and software.
With that unique blend of technical, systems and commercial experience, he returned to ECOPETROL in the Project Systems group, soon moving to their international trading group in the area of fuel trading and tanker leasing and contracting.
In his present role as Independent Consultant, he has advised companies like Servicom and Houston-based Network International and is now working with companies with renewable energy solutions, like Tesocol and Imposolar.
